Religious festivals are major annual events in Senegal – Tigo is on hand to support hot and tired pilgrims

Senegal is a predominantly Muslim country and has many key pilgrimages every year for holy days such as the Magal of Touba which attracts almost 3 million pilgrims, and the festival Gamou of Tivaouone.

Often pilgrims are ill prepared for the heat and the distances traveled and the destination city is not equipped to deal with the number of people visiting. To support the needs of pilgrims, Tigo provided 130,000 bottles of water, 5,000 prayer mats, and mobile phone service. Volunteer employees from all departments of Tigo Senegal took part in this initiative.
