Tigo was quick to react to a local emergency with practical and friendly support

In 2009 the island of Zanzibar lost its electricity supply for several weeks. As a result, the city council was not able to pump water to the island, and where trucks were able to distribute water, the poorest couldn't afford to pay for it. As part of our commitment to providing disaster relief and helping local communities tackle emergencies, we supplied five trucks to drive around the streets of Zanzibar to provide water for free during this period.
