Tigo Hour raised $15,000 for vital equipment at a children's hospital and mobilised Tigo volunteers to help the cause

Following on from the success of our Tigo Hour initiative in Paraguay, we have set up a similar program in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Our Tigo Solidarity Hour initiative was set up to raise funds for a paediatric hospital and worked closely with the hospital to establish the type of equipment needed. Our people, as volunteers, were the driving force behind this campaign, and raised almost $15,000 through an hour's worth of ePIN (electronic airtime top-up). In addition, the event attracted extensive radio and television coverage.
