In a country where all regions are heavily affected by malaria, it is challenging to prioritise the areas of Ghana to assist first. We decided to carry out our own on-the-ground research to identify the communities where we could make the most difference. We wanted to do much more than hand out equipment – where its use is often wasted due to the recipient's lack of understanding. We have now combined the distribution of equipment with an educational campaign highlighting the risks from malaria and waterborne diseases, and how to prevent contracting them. The equipment and products that we provide include: mosquito nets and treated curtains for malaria, Lifestraw mobile water purifiers for children for water-borne diseases, Lifestraw domestic water purifiers for homes
