Providing practical help to communities by providing the means to a steady source of income

As part of a social integration program led by the Bogota government, Tigo Colombia has partnered with the local agency Funtesa since 2007. The aim of this initiative is to help and support the families who earn a living by sifting through rubbish dumps to identify materials that they can recycle and sell on to businesses. We also donate all of our surplus or out-of-date marketing materials to participants of this Funtesa scheme, so that they can generate a reliable income stream from their recycling activities.
