Tigo is working closely with the government to support an extensive tree planting campaign

Deforestation is a big issue in Africa. In Chad, with no other sources of fuel available, desertification is a major threat as people burn trees to make charcoal. In partnership with the government, Tigo Chad has committed to tree planting which will form part of the 'green zone' being created around the capital city. Similar efforts are being made in Rwanda, which is a naturally greener and more fertile country, but where preservation of biodiversity is a greater issue.
